Why You Should Consider an At-Home Infrared Sauna for Better Health
A couple of years ago, I had been reading about infrared SAUNAS for your natural health. The more I researched, the more I liked the health benefits. I did what every person thinks to do, and I took all the Amazon gift certificates that I had collected for years and bought an infrared sauna. I’ve tried many things over the years that didn’t stick, but this was not one of them.
Infrared saunas are a little different from what we’ve seen in movies or on TV. Usually, when you think of a sauna, you think of moisture and add water to hot rocks to make it hot. An infrared sauna is different because it uses dry heat. The dry heat penetrates deeper.
The benefits of infrared saunas are pretty amazing!
Infrared Saunas Benefits:
Improve circulation
Relief from sore muscles
Relief from arthritis in joint pain
Detoxifies the body
Aids and weight loss
De-stresses
Relaxes
Improves sleep quality
People’s comfort level varies on how hot they make their saunas and how long they stay in them. I tend to do 1/2 an hour to 40 minutes at 140 degrees. I built up to this slowly and did not start that hot or that long. When I first started, I had it at about 105 degrees and maybe only for about 10 minutes. I could remember walking into it thinking, “Oh my gosh, it’s too hot. What was I thinking? Why did I get this thing?” and then I remembered, alright, it’s supposed to be good for you. Over time the chronic stress in my life makes made me crave the time I spend in it
I always take a large water bottle (24oz.) into the sauna with me. I also drink quite a bit of water before entering the sauna while I exercise. How you choose to dress is up to you. You can wrap in a towel, wear a bathing suit or be naked. I find sitting on a folded towel makes it more comfortable.
Saunas Come In All Shapes And Sizes
With the growing demand of more consumers purchasing infrared saunas, there are a lot more options. I chose a two-seater even though it’s mostly just me. I like to have the space to set my books and towels and give me a little legroom. Some people say they would feel claustrophobic in there, and it’s just not the case. There’s no lock on the door, and it’s a glass store so you can see perfectly out and you don’t feel confined. Just warm and cozy.
Good quality wood not soaked in toxic chemicals is vitally important! I chose Cedar because it is natural with no chemicals. I also decided on a low emf or electromagnetic fields sauna. Bought it from a Canadian company around four years ago from Amazon.
An infrared sauna is on my top list of best purchases I’ve ever made. It does not take up a lot of room. (It’s the size of a small closet) It was straightforward to assemble. Each piece was six pieces the floor, three sides, and the roof. It buckled together. No drills, no Hammers, no screws. If only IKEA could get it that straight!
Infrared Sauna That Will Energize Your Natural Health
It seems like such a luxury, but in truth, as often as I use it, I gained my money back, and it has improved my physical and mental health. Part of my morning routine is in the middle of exercising; I turn on the sauna to warm it up. After I finish exercising I sit in it for about 1/2 an hour each morning.
**Because it gets so hot, I can’t take my cell phone with me or any other electronic device. That kind of freaked me out at first. I mean an entire half-hour without my cell phone? For that reason and many others, it truly is a meditative space.
The sauna I got comes with a car radio actually and a CD player of all things. The reason for this is it’s the only device that can withstand the heat of the sauna. So I have found myself ordering CDs of different inspiring talks or sermons, and sometimes I listen to those or turn on the radio.
I also keep some books in there that I’m reading. But the one thing I do most before I do anything else is pray. The sauna has become my “inner room”. I have no distractions whatsoever, so it’s just me, God, and my thoughts. What started for my physical well-being ended up being one of the best things I’ve ever done for my mental health as well as my soul.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Infrared saunas penetrate deeper into your body than traditional saunas and cause you to sweat more toxins out. When I first started using my sauna, I didn’t sweat. It was odd I was hot, but I didn’t sweat. After using it for a while (maybe about a week or so), I started to sweat. I only assume that my body was holding on to toxins, and now I almost always have a good sweat.
I immediately wipe off my body with a dry towel because the sweat is full of toxins, (I don’t want it to end up back in my pores) and jump in the shower. My shower is usually hot, but I do try to finish with a cold-water rinse. (Think Cryotherapy to invigorate my skin, close my pores, and make my hair super shiny) This took a little convincing!
Therefore, if you’ve never even thought that it was possible or why would you want to own an infrared sauna, I hope I’ve given you some reasons to give it some serious consideration. I love mine. It’s helped me to manage my stress a lot better, and I sleep like a baby.
May the sweat be with you!
